THINGS TO DO IN HUAHIN

Whether you’re looking to explore the shoreline or inland, Hua Hin presents a wide array of options for activities:

Beaches: With options like the bustling Hua Hin Beach, the secluded Khao Takiab with its Monkey Mountain, the tranquil and tree-lined Suan Son Pradiphat, and the small and serene Khao Tao, each representing a unique slice of Thailand’s coastal charm, you’re bound to find the perfect beach for your sensibilities.

Khao Takiab: Literally translated as the “Chopsticks Hill,” this small mountain with a quiet and private beach can be found about 5 kilometers south of Hua Hin. Khao Takiab is renowned for its tranquil atmosphere and picturesque scenery, making it a favorite among visitors seeking peace and relaxation. Some of its most popular activities include swimming, sunbathing, horse riding, and jet skiing.

Hua Hin Night Market: Located where Decha Nuchit Road and Petchkasem Road intersect, this night market is one of the more important landmarks of Hua Hin. There, they sell food and drinks (including cocktails and beer), accessories, arts and crafts, clothes, and souvenirs.

Cicada Market: Another night market that’s more known for its combination of contemporary art, inventions, handmade items, home decorations, clothes, and artifacts. It is divided into 4 zones: A la mode & Idea Shop, Amphitheatre, Art Factory, and Cuisine.

Elephant Sanctuaries & Trekking: Creating a compassionate environment for rescued elephants, these sanctuaries are dedicated to the ethical treatment of elephants, providing them with a safe haven where they can roam, bathe, and socialize freely in their habitat. If you are feeling adventurous, however, you can opt to go elephant trekking where you’ll be guided around the habitat, all the while sitting on one of these behemoths.

The best time to be in Hua Hin is between November to February when the weather is just about perfect to hold a wedding. A little later between March and June is Thailand’s summer season, which might be too hot for some, though Hua Hin’s coast will be much more pleasant than Bangkok or other inland cities in the hot months due to the ocean breeze blowing into the coast. You can expect windy weather and thunderstorms from July to October, which is the rainy season, so it is important to time it all just right if you are planning an outdoor ceremony.
